38 New Residential Plots by the Lule River

Boden is growing, and with that comes the need for more housing. A detailed development plan is now being prepared for 38 residential plots in a highly desirable location. Boden Municipality is initiating consultations on a detailed plan for 38 residential plots located right next to the Lule River. The plots are situated adjacent to existing residential housing in Trångfors, just ten minutes from central Boden.

The municipality’s goal is to grow to 33,000 inhabitants by 2030. To realize this vision, residential development is one of many crucial factors, where the municipality must meet the demand for housing and enable properties that contribute to Boden’s positive growth.

“It is exciting that we can now offer so many attractive plots. Boden is entering a period of intensive growth, and varied, appealing housing options will be a key success factor in reaching our long-term vision and population target,” says Lars Andersson, Head of Planning and Development at Boden Municipality.

The purpose of the detailed plan is to develop the Trångfors area into an attractive residential neighborhood and to create a walking and cycling path along the river. The plan also aims to enable new housing of varying sizes, suitable public spaces, and to protect sensitive natural and cultural areas.

The consultation is an early stage of the planning process, giving stakeholders the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed plan. A preliminary plan is presented during the consultation. Afterward, all feedback is compiled into a consultation report, and the planning documents and maps are revised if needed. A final proposal, along with collected feedback, will be presented during the review stage. The consultation is open until January 9, 2023.
