Peab plans to develop hotel and offices in Boden
Peab Projektutveckling, together with Boden Municipality, will explore the possibility of creating a zoning plan for a new hotel and office space in central Boden. With the municipality’s rapid growth, there is a growing need for both additional hotel rooms and modern office facilities.
Peab Projektutveckling has for some time been in dialogue with Boden Municipality about an investment in a new hotel and modern office buildings.
Today, Boden’s municipal executive committee decided on a land allocation agreement. If the decision gains legal force, it means that Peab Projektutveckling and Boden Municipality will jointly explore the opportunities to develop an area adjacent to the sports and swimming facility Nordpoolen.
New zoning plan required
Given Boden’s growth rate, the need for more hotel beds and office space is significant. The location—close to the adventure pool, sports hall, and centrally situated—makes the site suitable for this type of development. In addition to its proximity to sports and recreation, the area is also located at the entrance to Boden, just steps away from the railway station.
To enable development, a new zoning plan will be required. The full scope of the project will be defined during the planning process.
“This is a very welcome initiative from Peab. The mix of hotel beds and office space in a central location is exactly what we need. The location right next to Road 97, while at the same time enhancing the design and appearance of the entrance to central Boden, feels exciting. The proximity to everything Nordpoolen offers is an added bonus,” says Mats Berg, Head of Business Relations, Boden Municipality.
“We want to be part of developing this site together with the municipality and are proud that Peab has been given this trust. Boden’s location and its clear forward-looking journey have made the area very attractive, and we believe interest and growth will continue,” says Christoffer Björn, Regional Manager, Peab Projektutveckling.
