New entrepreneurial housing at Slipvägen 1
The largest area so far and the central part of temporary contractor housing in Boden is at Slipvägen 1. Occupancy has now started in the first of 660 newly built rooms.
The contractor housing at Slipvägen 1 will have space for 660 people. The move-in will take place in stages after the houses are completed, and the first guests have started moving in.
Slipvägen 1 will also be the central location for the reception of all temporary contractor housing at the steelworks.
The area on Slipvägen 1 is designed and follows the same red thread regarding design as on the first temporary residential area Nylandsbäcken, both internally and externally. Externally, this will eventually mean green and communal areas between the houses.
The areas have also been planned with a comprehensive approach to logistics, including bus transportation to and from the steelworks.
The temporary accommodation is intended only for staff working in Boden temporarily for short periods.
According to a political decision in 2021, the municipality of Boden will provide land and temporary building permits for up to 3,000 temporary homes, to relieve the regular housing market and for common requirements for location, standard and maintenance. Stegra (formerly H2 Green Steel) is responsible for the construction, maintenance and restoration of the areas.
The next area to be completed is at Boden Business Park in Sävast. It is planned to be completed by spring 2025.
