Consultation: Comprehensive plan 2040
Boden Municipality has prepared a proposal for a new Comprehensive Plan. You can now review the proposal and submit comments during the consultation period from 21 September to 18 October 2026.

About the comprehensive plan
The Comprehensive Plan describes the municipality's long-term development and sets out the direction for how land and water should be used. The plan provides guidance for future decisions on matters such as housing, businesses, infrastructure, and natural and cultural environments.
The Comprehensive Plan is not legally binding. It represents the municipality's politically adopted direction and provides guidance for decisions made by the municipality and other public authorities, for example when preparing detailed development plans and considering building permit applications.
Consultation 21 September–18 October
During the consultation, an initial proposal for a new Comprehensive Plan will be presented. The consultation provides an opportunity for stakeholders and the public to review the proposal and submit comments.
The consultation runs from 21 September to 18 October 2026.
Where to view the proposal
During the consultation period, you can view the consultation documents at:
- Boden Town Hall, at the entrance from Stadshusparken
- Boden City Library
The documents are available during regular opening hours.
Meet us and ask questions
Staff will be available to answer questions about the proposal at the following times and locations:
- Gunnarsbyn Service Point: Monday 5 October, 13:00–19:00
- Enter Galleria, outside Boden City Library: Wednesday 7 October, 12:00–14:00
- Unbyn/Avan Service Point: Tuesday 13 October, 13:00–19:00
- Harads Service Point: Wednesday 14 October, 13:00–19:00
Submit comments
If you would like to comment on the proposal, please submit your comments by 18 October 2026.
Include case number KS-2025-00167 and send your comments:

- by post to Boden Municipality, Kyrkgatan 24, SE-961 86 Boden, Sweden.
What happens after the consultation?
After the consultation, the comments received will be compiled in a consultation report and the proposal will be revised. The proposal will then proceed to the review stage, when there will be another opportunity to submit comments.
After the review, the comments received will be compiled and addressed in a review report. Finally, the Municipal Council will adopt the Comprehensive Plan.
