What is the Detailed Comprehensive Plan?
The Detailed Comprehensive Plan is one of the municipality’s most important policy documents, alongside the Strategic Plan. It is a long-term tool that sets the intended direction for how land and water are used.
What the plan covers
- Which areas are preserved, developed and how development should occur.
- Which areas need special protection and how that protection is applied.
- Environmental risks that must be considered and how they are managed.
Traffic and Parking Strategy
The strategy sets long-term goals and principles for travel and transport within, to and from the municipality. It charts the path toward a sustainable, attractive and vibrant Boden.
What the plans mean
The plans guide the municipality’s daily decisions, including detailed development planning, building permits and other permit reviews. Other authorities use them in a similar way when they assess or review cases.
Support for coordinated development
By presenting a long-term strategy for the physical environment, the plans form a platform for the municipality’s role in regional development and infrastructure planning. They make investments in infrastructure, new housing and premises easier for the municipality and for other actors.
Stage in the process
Adoption
The Municipal Council adopted the Detailed Comprehensive Plan and the Traffic and Parking Strategy on 15 June 2020.
