Purpose and content
The plan for rural development in shoreline areas (LIS) identifies several places near water in the municipality. In these areas, it may sometimes be possible to receive an exemption from the shoreline protection rules. The purpose is to support development in rural areas, for example through new homes, holiday houses, or small businesses. At the same time, important shorelines for swimming, nature, boating, and outdoor activities must be protected.
The plan is used as a basis when the municipality reviews building permits and prepares detailed development plans near water.
Stage in the process
The LIS plan is a thematic addition to the Comprehensive plan 2025. It was adopted by the municipal council on 19 June 2017 and is used today when decisions are made about building close to water.
The addition is legally in force.
