Climate-Neutral Boden 2030

KLiV is a three-year project that helps staff in elderly care in Boden Municipality develop their skills. The project offers training and guidance at the workplace, so that employees feel more confident and prepared in their daily work.

About the project

Climate-Neutral Boden 2030 is part of the Climate-Neutral Cities initiative within Viable Cities, a national programme where Swedish cities collaborate to reduce emissions and drive the green transition.

The goal is to create long-term changes that reduce climate impact and contribute to a sustainable society. The work is carried out through collaboration between the public sector, businesses, academia, civil society organisations and residents.

What we are doing

The project brings together stakeholders from different parts of society to create a shared direction for climate action.

An important tool is the municipality’s Climate City Contract, which is reviewed and updated annually. The project is also establishing a transition team and a transition arena, where different organisations can work together on climate-related issues.

Together, the partners are developing an action plan for the climate transition within the municipality and its municipal companies. The aim is to enable more organisations to contribute and work towards common goals.

Timeline and current status

During the project period, climate contracts, action plans and collaborative working methods are being developed to strengthen climate action in Boden. The project will also help share knowledge and experiences with other municipalities in Norrbotten.

Funding, collaborations and responsibilities

The project is led by the Community Development Department of the Municipality of Boden.

The project is carried out in collaboration with Boden Business Park AB, Bodens Utveckling AB, Bodens Energi AB, Stiftelsen Bodenbo, Bodens Näringsfastigheter AB, The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation in Boden, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and Stegra.

Funding is provided by the Swedish Energy Agency, Region Norrbotten and the project partners.
