About the project

Strengthened Capacity for Population Growth is a three-year project designed to make it easier to move to and live in Boden.

The goal is to create a strong and long-term support system for new residents. The project develops working methods and collaboration between organisations so that more people feel welcome and choose to remain in the municipality.

What we are doing

The project develops a coordinated welcome programme for new residents together with municipal services, businesses, associations and other organisations.

People interested in moving to Boden are offered a welcome meeting where they receive information about the municipality and support with practical matters that are often important when relocating. This may include housing, preschool, schools and information about living and working in Boden. Accompanying partners can also receive support with employment and study opportunities.

The website movetoboden.se is an important resource for people considering a move to Boden. It provides practical information about life in the municipality and support before relocation.

To help new residents get to know their new community, the project also arranges guided tours, information sessions and other activities. These events provide opportunities to learn more about Boden and meet others who have recently moved to the area.

Timeline and current status

The project runs from 2025 to 2028.

During the project period, new methods for welcoming and supporting new residents are being developed and tested. The aim is to create a long-term model that helps people establish themselves more easily in Boden.

Funding, collaborations and responsibilities

The project is led by the Labour Market and Education Department of the Municipality of Boden.

Funding is provided by the European Social Fund (ESF), Region Norrbotten and the Municipality of Boden.
