About the project
Young people who are not in employment, education or training may find it difficult to enter the labour market. Utväg provides support based on each participant's needs and situation. Together, the participant and the project team explore a way forward. This may include education, a work placement or other pathways towards employment.
The project is primarily for young people aged 18–30. People who are younger or older may also be eligible to take part.
Utväg also supports parents and other family members. They may feel alone and find it difficult to know how to help. The project develops support and tools to help them support the young person.
What we are doing
Participants receive support based on their individual needs. This may include meeting others in a similar situation or talking one-to-one with an adult. The project also helps participants explore pathways towards education, work placements and employment. Another part of the project is to develop support for family members and find shared ways to reach young people who need support. The project also aims to increase knowledge among staff in municipalities and folk high schools. This includes knowledge about neurodevelopmental conditions (NPF) and other reasons why young people may not be in employment, education or training.
Goals and expected results
The project aims to:
- help participants build their self-esteem and develop skills for adult life
- help participants move closer to the labour market
- develop an approach for supporting family members
- develop a shared approach for reaching young people who need support
- increase knowledge about neurodevelopmental conditions (NPF) and other reasons why young people may not be in employment, education or training
- develop a documented approach for better coordination between municipalities and folk high schools.
