What we are building
Purpose and scope
The road, railway, and walking–cycling path make it safer to reach the area and allow goods to be transported in and out by train.
Consideration for neighbours and the environment
Works are planned to respect the environment and people living nearby.
About the project
The municipality has procured Polar Structure as majority owner of Boden Järnväg AB and to deliver the infrastructure. The contract is carried out with Peab during 2024–2025.
Impact across the municipality
This is one of several major projects in Boden. Increased heavy traffic may affect travel times.

Opening of the Outdoor Bridge – Welcome!

The new outdoor bridge is now finished!
You are welcome to join us for the opening.
We will serve coffee and snacks and tell you a little about the project.
Then Lena Goldkuhl, chair of the Community development committee, will cut the ribbon and open the bridge for everyone.

The outdoor bridge is open
We would like to remind you that all areas outside the marked snowmobile trail, the unplowed path leading to the outdoor bridge, as well as the pedestrian and cycle path towards Gruvberget, are still active work zones. For safety reasons, it is important that everyone respects these restricted areas.

Working hours and safety
Working hours
From week 19, works run every day 07:00–19:00. In week 20, Nåiden plans night-time railway works.
Respect the work zone
Please follow barriers and signs. Unauthorised presence in the work area increases the risk of accidents. Be especially careful near operating machinery.
For nearby residents: transport and dust
Transport of rock material has been reduced, which lowers dust. Measures include regular watering, salting and sweeping of roads during construction.
