Goal and direction: Climate-neutral Boden by 2030
Why we act now
Climate change is a global challenge with local consequences. What we do today makes a difference both here and across the world.
Everyone is needed
No one can solve everything alone, and we should not wait for a crisis. Together, we take steps forward in our operations, in the city’s decisions, in business innovations, in community projects, and in our everyday choices.
Our starting point
We do not yet have a formally adopted political goal for climate neutrality. However, we participate in Viable Cities’ initiative Climate Neutral Cities 2030. Together with local stakeholders and a national network, we work to accelerate the climate transition—beyond what any single actor can achieve on their own.
Climate action in the municipality
How we work
Work happens in many areas at the same time. Everyone has a role. Choices in planning, investment and everyday life decide how far we get.
Our focus areas
- Cut emissions and shift to sustainable solutions
- Keep a high quality of life during the transition
- Make climate-smart choices easy in daily life
The Climate Adaptation Plan
How climate change affects Boden
Warmer temperatures, more rain and changed water flows affect daily life, nature and vital services.
What the plan contains
The plan builds resilience to current and future change. It identifies the main risks and the actions that protect safety and wellbeing.
Examples of actions
- Stronger infrastructure
- Training and awareness
- New guidelines for urban planning
