How we work
Direction
We work preventively and long term. The work is guided by the municipal Safety Plan and complemented by a situation assessment and an action plan. The goal is a safe and fair Boden.
Why these crimes are treated together
Welfare crime, labour market crime and exploitation crimes often occur together. We plan and follow them up jointly to stop both individual offences and recurring patterns.
Crime types we prevent
Welfare crime – what it is
Illegal use of the welfare system for financial gain by individuals, associations or companies. Examples: false information to obtain benefits, wrongly paid association support, undue influence on decision-makers and systematic delivery deviations.
Labour market crime – what it is
Systematic breaches of law in working life to maximise profit at the expense of employees, the public sector and fair competition. Examples: undeclared work, wage dumping, false employment, illegal labour and tax offences.
Exploitation crimes – what they are
Exploitation of a person in a vulnerable situation. Examples: unreasonable pay, unfair conditions or forced labour. Human trafficking is included. Migrant workers and people without the right to work are often affected.
Inter-agency cooperation and reporting
Joint work
The municipality cooperates with the Police and other public authorities to detect and counter these crimes. We pay special attention to preventing undue influence, conflicts of interest and bribery or corruption.
Report suspicions
- For an ongoing serious incident: call 112.
- For non-urgent matters: contact the Police on 114 14 or use an electronic service.
A suspicion is enough. Your information can be combined with other information.
Raise the alarm and get support
SOS Alarm – 112
Call for emergencies with danger to life, property or the environment. Be ready to briefly say what happened and where. Interpreter support is available in many languages. On weekdays 08:00–17:00 there is language support in Arabic, Somali, Russian, Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian. People with speech or hearing impairment can register for a text message service to 112.
Police – 114 14 or electronic service
Report non-urgent crimes and leave tips. For example, report fraud, burglary, damage or a parking incident. From abroad: 114 14 is reached via the international number +46 77 114 14 00.
