How Brännkläppen works
The recycling center accepts most types of waste that are not allowed in household bins. All waste must be sorted correctly to ensure efficient recycling at the lowest possible cost.
Transparent bags are required. Opaque or black bags must be emptied and sorted on site.
Responsibility and operation
Brännkläppen Recycling Center is owned and operated by Boden Municipality. Municipal staff manage reception, supervision, and guidance for proper sorting.

Reuse
Whenever possible, items should be left for reuse.

- Sports and leisure items can be left in the marked container for Fritidsbanken.
- Reuse Market in Boden collects and sells items in their shop.
- Deposit containers can also be left; proceeds are donated to the Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund.
Plan your visit
Pack your trailer in reverse order so that the waste you unload first is placed last. If you only have garden waste, you can use the right-hand loop at the entrance without going over the ramp. This improves safety and traffic flow.
Businesses and fees
Businesses must always pay a fee for business waste. The fee applies to companies delivering waste with cars, trailers, or light trucks at any of Boden’s recycling centers.
Fees
- Businesses pay per visit according to the current fee schedule.
- The fee covers waste for energy recovery, landfill, construction and demolition waste, and small amounts of hazardous waste.
- Electronic waste, cardboard, white goods, and packaging waste can be left free of charge.
Automatic invoicing for businesses
Visits are registered automatically with camera sensors that read license plates. For company vehicles, an invoice is sent monthly.
- No data is stored.
- Businesses must contact staff before leaving free waste types to avoid incorrect billing.
- Households are not affected by automatic invoicing. If a company car is used privately, staff must be contacted for assessment.
