Harads recycling center

At the recycling center in Harads, households can leave sorted bulky waste and items for reuse. Businesses leave waste for a fee.

Harads Recycling Center is part of Boden Municipality’s waste management. The facility is operated by Harads ÅVC AB on behalf of the municipality.

Opening hours

  • Tuesday: 07.00–15.45
  • Thursday: 07.00–17.45
  • Saturday: 10.00–13.45
  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday: Closed

Opening hours may be adjusted on public holidays and long weekends.

What you can leave

At Harads Recycling Center you can leave waste that cannot be placed in household bins or is too large to fit. The site is staffed, but you do the sorting yourself with advice and support from staff.

Households can leave waste free of charge if it fits in a car or small trailer. Businesses always pay according to the current fee schedule.

  • Impregnated wood
  • Gypsum
  • Plastic packaging (e.g. ketchup bottles, shampoo bottles, polystyrene, soft plastics)
  • Large plastic sacks (e.g. pellet sacks)
  • Landfill waste (e.g. kitchen porcelain, sanitary porcelain)
  • Energy recovery waste (e.g. foam mattresses without springs, plastic furniture)
  • Timber and wood waste
  • Metal (e.g. bicycles, spades, pots, pans, outdoor grills)
  • Garden waste
  • White goods
  • Electronic waste
  • Hazardous waste (e.g. car batteries, glue, oil, paint)
  • Light bulbs
  • Cardboard and paperboard (e.g. flour bags, cereal boxes, gift wrap)
  • Newspapers, advertising, and catalogues
  • Glass packaging

Textiles

From January 1, 2025, textiles must be sorted separately.

  • Clean and whole textiles should be left for reuse.
  • Damaged textiles should be left for material recycling.

Asbestos

Always notify staff if you are leaving asbestos. This waste is subject to a fee even for households. Only small amounts are accepted.

Larger volumes

Larger amounts of waste must be taken to Brännkläppen Waste Facility in Boden and are charged according to the current fee schedule.
