What do the values mean?
pH level
Good drinking water should have a pH between 7.5 and 9.0. Almost all areas in the municipality are within this range.
Water hardness
All drinking water in Boden Municipality is soft because hardness is below 5. This means you can use the lowest recommended dose of laundry and dish detergent. If laundry is not heavily soiled, you can even skip the pre-wash.
Fluorid
Fluoride levels are low throughout the municipality and below the limit of 1.5 milligrams per liter, which would otherwise make the water unsuitable.
How this affects you as a resident
The water is safe to drink throughout the municipality. You do not need to worry about high fluoride levels or hard water. Because the water is soft, you can also save on both laundry and dish detergent.
