Grants for private sewage systems
As a property owner with a private sewage system, you can apply for a grant to build or improve your system.

Who can receive a grant?
The grant is aimed at property owners or members of associations with year-round housing. The purpose is to help cover the costs of arranging a safe water and sewage solution.
What can the grant cover?
Grants can be given for investments that improve water and sewage, such as:
- a new well with connections,
- water purification,
- a new sewage system.
Amount and personal contribution
The grant has a maximum amount per property. Before the grant is approved, a personal financial contribution is deducted. The grant is written off by ten percent per year as long as the property is used as year-round housing.
When must the grant be repaid?
If the property is sold or becomes a holiday home before the grant is fully written off, the remaining amount must be repaid to the municipality.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted on a special form to the municipality pdf, 409 kB.. The case is assessed both technically and financially. The grant can be paid out in two steps:
- an advance when the work has started,
- the remaining amount after the system has been inspected and approved.
