How to connect your property

If you want to connect your property to the municipal water and sewage system, you must submit a written notification. The connection is made at a service point determined by the municipality, usually near the property boundary. Fees apply once the service point has been established. The right to use the system follows the property and applies regardless of ownership.

The municipality’s responsibility

The municipality supplies drinking water for household use and receives wastewater in accordance with current regulations. The supply may be limited or temporarily stopped during maintenance work or to prevent damage. In the case of planned interruptions, the municipality will inform you in advance.

Your responsibility as a property owner

You are responsible for pipes and installations on your property and for using the systems correctly.

Water meter

The municipality provides the water meter. You must ensure that it is protected from frost, accessible, and in good condition.

Sewage

Do not pour solvents, large amounts of oil or fat, medicines, or other hazardous substances into the sewage system. Wastewater from garbage disposals may only be discharged if the municipality has given written approval. Stormwater and drainage water must not be connected to the wastewater system.

Changes and transfer of ownership

Notify the municipality of any new installations or changes that affect the fee. You must also report a change of property ownership. This can be done via our online services.

Protect yourself against basement flooding

Houses with basements may be affected during heavy rainfall or snowmelt. Do not store sensitive items in the basement, check drains and vents, direct rainwater away from the house, and review basement entrances.

When water or sewage is shut off

Temporary interruptions may occur during repairs or maintenance work. In cases of serious neglect, such as unpaid fees, the water supply may be shut off after written notice. Reconnection will take place once the issue has been resolved.
