Changed waste collection days during Christmas and New Year
During the Christmas and New Year holidays, the regular waste collection schedule will be adjusted. To ensure that your bin is emptied, please place it out the evening before, as collection may occur at different times than usual.

New fees for assisted transport services from 1 January 2026
The municipality’s co-payment for assisted transport services follows Länstrafiken Norrbotten’s single-ticket prices, with an additional fifty percent. The fee is rounded up to the nearest whole SEK. Here you can read more about the new fees.

Opening hours at the Recycling Centres during Christmas and New Year 2025
During the Christmas and New Year holidays, our recycling centres have special opening hours. Check the times before you visit to avoid unnecessary trips.

Take care of your waste in the winter cold!
Make sure the food waste is loose in the bin before collection. If the waste freezes and sticks to the bin, it may be lifted without emptying completely. In that case, you’ll need to wait until the next collection or order an extra pickup (SEK 385).

Temporary issues with the “Buy a Plot” e-service
The e-service “Buy a Plot” is currently experiencing temporary disruptions due to issues with our system provider. We have set up a temporary solution that allows the service to function for now, but we cannot guarantee how long it will remain stable. Disruptions may occur over the next 2–3 weeks.

Right now we have a very high number of people applying to SFI, which means the waiting time is longer than usual, approximately 4–5 months.

The municipality conducts a customer survey
The Municipality of Boden is currently conducting a customer survey to improve our services. The independent research company Norstat is calling residents who have recently been in contact with the municipality to learn about their experience.Your answers are anonymous and help us improve our services. Transparent bags from November 1, 2025
From November 1, you must use transparent bags when dropping off waste at Brändkläppen Recycling Center.The purpose is to make sorting easier and ensure that waste is handled correctly.Do you have questions about where to leave your waste? Staff will be on site on Monday evenings during the autumn – feel free to ask them!

Textile waste sorting
From 1 October, certain textiles should be thrown away with your burnable household waste. This includes: socks and underwear, textiles that are moldy or infested with pests, textiles that are so dirty, stained, worn, or damaged that they cannot realistically be prepared for reuse or recycling.Whole and clean clothes that you no longer want should be donated for reuse, so someone else can make use of them.
