Manage waste

Business property owners in Boden Municipality must have a waste collection subscription for the property.

1. Important to know

Boden Municipality collects food waste and combustible residual waste. These must be sorted separately. Packaging should be taken to recycling.

1.1 Packaging from businesses

Businesses can take sorted packaging free of charge to the Recycling Center. You can also sign an agreement with a contractor to collect packaging. Note that businesses are not allowed to leave packaging at regular recycling stations.

1.2 Waste in workplaces

In premises with toilets or lunchrooms, waste is often generated and must be sorted. Food waste and residual waste must be collected separately.

1.3 Property owner’s responsibility

As a property owner, you are responsible for providing space for waste management. The garbage truck must be able to turn without reversing. Consider where the bins should be placed – in a waste room or outdoors – and whether they need lids.

2. costs

The waste fee has two parts: a fixed base fee and a variable collection fee. The cost depends on how many bins you have and their size.

Businesses own their bins. If you do not have bins, you can order them from Boden Municipality for a fee.

3. Processing time

Once we have received your order, bins are delivered within one week. Collection then begins.

4. Submit your application

Order a waste collection subscription through Boden Municipality’s customer service for Water, sewage, and waste (VAA).

5. What happens next

Once the case is registered, a case officer receives a notification and starts reviewing it.

  • If everything is correct → the status changes to approved, and you receive an email.
  • If something is missing → the case officer will ask you for additional information by email.
