Ballot Papers
Distribution responsibility
Political parties are responsible for delivering their ballot papers to polling stations. The municipality may support parties that have difficulties.
Legal requirements
The Election Committee ensures that blank ballots and party ballots are always available for parties that received at least one percent of votes in the last two national elections, or that are represented in municipal or regional councils. The same rule applies to European Parliament elections.
Placement in polling stations
Since February 2022, the Election Committee is responsible for placing all ballot papers in the holders. Parties hand over their ballot papers to election officials, who keep them stocked. Parties must be registered to have their ballot papers placed.
