Contact politicians or the administration
As a resident of Boden, you can contact an individual politician or a municipal employee.
- Members of the municipal council can submit motions, interpellations or questions.
- Members of committees can raise questions in their own committee.
- You can also contact the committee or administration responsible for the area. Municipal employees can answer questions and provide information.
Submit a “Boden Proposal”
If you are registered in Boden, you can submit a Citizen Proposal.
- The proposal is easiest to submit digitally with an e-ID or on paper via the Citizen Service.
- A proposal will be handled politically if it receives enough support.
Share your opinion
Everyone can submit feedback on the municipality’s services, even if you are not registered in Boden.
- Opinions can be submitted via the municipality’s website.
- They are handled by municipal employees and answered quickly.
- Unlike Boden Proposals, opinions are not handled politically.
Attend open meetings
Some committees hold open meetings where you can listen to the discussions.
- Municipal council meetings are always open to the public.
- The meetings are also broadcast on Radio Boden 98.2 MHz.
- We also stream them live on YouTube.
Appeal a municipal decision
You have the right to appeal certain decisions made by the municipal council, the municipal executive board, a committee, or an individual official with delegated authority. Decisions that are only preparatory or purely administrative cannot be appealed.
Review of legality
- Applies to decisions that concern all residents of Boden Municipality.
- Only those registered in Boden or those who own property here may request a review.
- Appeals must be submitted in writing to the Administrative Court within three weeks after the decision is published on the municipality’s official notice board.
- There is no cost to appeal, except for your own time and any legal expenses.
- If the court approves the appeal, the decision is annulled but not replaced with a new one.
Administrative appeal
- Applies to decisions that affect individual residents, for example in social services or building permits.
- Only the person directly affected may appeal.
- The appeal must be submitted to the committee that made the decision within three weeks after you have received it.
- The decision must include information on how and where to appeal. This is called an appeal instruction.
- Both the legality and the appropriateness of the decision are reviewed.
