What is the Municipal Council?
The Municipal Council is the highest decision-making body in Boden. It consists of 49 elected members and substitutes, chosen every four years in the general elections. The County Administrative Board confirms which candidates receive mandates based on the election results.
The Council decides on the municipal budget, regulations, fees, and other key policies. Council members can submit motions, ask questions, or request interpellations. Citizens can also submit a “Boden proposal” through the municipality’s online services.

The current mandate period runs from October 17, 2022, until the next elections in 2026. The Council has 49 seats, distributed as follows:
Live broadcasts of meetings
You can follow the Council’s meetings via live broadcasts. They are usually held in the Council Chamber at the City Hall. The broadcast starts a few minutes before the meeting begins, and all meetings are available afterwards on the municipality’s YouTube channel.
