Moose family decorates new roundabout
The roundabout at the entrance to Teknikvägen is now adorned with a piece of art designed by technology students from Björknäsgymnasiet. Inspired by a real moose family frequently seen in Sävast, the students have created a beautiful and meaningful roundabout installation.
A steel moose family now welcomes passersby as they enter Sävast. The artwork was created by Emil Larsson, Felicia Sundström, and Elliot Samuelsson, students at Björknäsgymnasiet, and was inspired by a moose family often spotted in the area.
"It feels really great and fun that we get the chance to decorate the roundabout," says Felicia Sundström.
With their design, the students wanted to highlight both nature and the strong sense of community that characterizes Sävast. Their idea was one of several proposed by local school students as part of a project commissioned by the municipality’s Traffic Unit. The winning concept was selected through a public vote on the Municipality of Boden’s Facebook page, which engaged nearly 2,000 people.
Today, the finished artwork was inaugurated – a new local landmark symbolizing creativity, collaboration, and community pride.
