Different roles – but the same goal
After many years of service to the municipality, Mats Berg, Head of Business Development, is now retiring. In an interview on the Bodenxt website, he shares how Boden’s work with the green transition – through investments in industry, infrastructure, housing, and attracting new residents – has been strategically prepared and developed over several years.
In the interview, Mats reflects on how the municipality, together with various stakeholders, has laid the foundation for Boden’s societal transformation. By planning early for housing, skills supply, and a strengthened business sector, the municipality has been able to meet rapid developments with a long-term perspective.
He highlights, among other things, the importance of ensuring that major industrial establishments – such as Stegra – are accompanied by investments in infrastructure and living environments, not only to create jobs but also to build an attractive community where people want to live and stay. According to Mats, the work has been driven by a shared commitment: different roles, but the same goal – for Boden to grow sustainably.
