Paddle on Calm Waters
Paddling on mirror-like waters is a unique and peaceful experience that allows you to relax, enjoy the beauty of nature, and experience it entirely at your own pace. In the Municipality of Boden, there are not only two river valleys (Råne and Lule rivers) with completely different characters but also a large number of lakes and waterways to paddle in. During the summer, you can also enjoy gliding silently across the water under our bright summer nights.
Cycling for Everyone
In Boden, you will find both scenic cycling routes and adrenaline-filled cycling challenges! Pick up a cycling map at Citizen Services and discover new favourite routes – or try the Mountain Bike Arena and pump track at Gruvberget if you want more action. For a fun and challenging activity, you can try the cycling orienteering event “Skoj på hoj,” where you use a map to find control points around the municipality. Maps for “Skoj på hoj” are available for purchase at sports stores in Boden.
Running in Scenic Surroundings
The Municipality of Boden offers a wide range of jogging trails and hiking paths. From central walkways around the city’s waterways to forest trails in areas such as Gruvberget, Pagla, and our river valleys. Here, you can choose between gentle walks or intense interval sessions, always accompanied by the sounds of nature. For those looking for an extra challenge, there is the opportunity to climb some of Boden’s highest peaks. For example, Brännspiken, Björnberget, and Hänghuvudet offer varied terrain and beautiful views.
