Important information regarding the fire in central Boden
During the night between Sunday and Monday, a multi-family residential building burned down completely in central Boden. No injuries have been reported. Fire watch and monitoring of the area are ongoing, which is affecting traffic and causing smoke in the vicinity.
The area is cordoned off, impacting traffic on Lundagårdsgatan and Ringvägen. The intersection of Lundagårdsgatan and Ringvägen is closed.
Firefighting efforts continued through Monday morning, and follow-up work at the site will carry on for an extended period. On Monday, the fire department handed over monitoring responsibilities to the property owner, Bodenbo, who will continue to staff the restricted area. For everyone’s safety, please respect all barricades and follow instructions.
Smoke is still affecting the surrounding area and will likely continue to do so for some time.
During the night, Boden Municipality activated the POSOM group’s crisis support at the Parish Hall on Strandplan 25, Boden. The on-site crisis support at the Parish Hall has now concluded.
