Does Boden have Sweden’s best drinking water?
Boden and Älvsbyn have made it to the finals of the Swedish Tap Water Competition 2025 after the regional round in Luleå. The competition, organized by Svenskt Vatten (Swedish Water & Wastewater Association), highlights the importance of clean and high-quality drinking water.
The national Tap Water Competition 2025 brings together municipalities from across Sweden to compete for the title of Sweden’s Best Tap Water. The goal is to celebrate the quality of municipal drinking water and raise awareness of how vital this resource is for both health and the environment.
On October 7, one of ten regional contests took place in Luleå, where the finalists from northern Sweden were selected. After careful evaluation, the jury announced that Boden and Älvsbyn will advance to the grand final in Stockholm on November 12.
The jury’s motivation for Boden’s success read:
“Boden offers water with real character – a fine structure, good balance, and a refreshing aftertaste.”
Boden is entering the final with hopes of reclaiming its previous title from 2020, when the municipality was named Northern Sweden’s Best Tap Water. This year, we’re aiming even higher — to win the national title of Sweden’s Best Tap Water.
