Boden municipality launches new website

“This is an important step in our long-term digital development. I’m incredibly proud of the team’s expertise, which made it possible for us to build the new website ourselves. It’s a strategically smart decision — not only a significant financial saving but also something that gives us near full control over our most central communication platform with the residents of Boden,” says communications manager Jens Andersson.

The new boden.se launches on October 28. Our goal is to make it easier for residents to find the right information, in the right place, in just a few clicks. The vision has been simple: users should find what they’re looking for in no more than three clicks. The website should meet the visitor — not the other way around.

The digital development process has been ongoing for some time. First came the Mitt Boden phone app, which provides our citizens with quick access to information. Now comes the big sister — a completely new version of Boden.se — designed to work in harmony with the app.

“In the midst of the green social transition, it’s especially important to have user-friendly communication with our citizens. This is a clear example of how we prioritize the work of engaging with our citizens — digitally as well,” says municipal chief executive Magnus Åkerlund.

What you’ll find on the new website

The new site features a clearer structure, more readable language, and a mega menu that gathers the most requested topics. Content is available in both Swedish and English.

The website has been developed based on the mobile-first principle, meaning it was planned and built with mobile use as the starting point — ensuring that the most important content is easily accessible regardless of screen size. The result is a more focused and user-friendly experience — on mobile, tablet, and desktop alike.
