Appreciated service adds a golden touch to the workplace

Every workday starts with a cup of coffee in the break room on the third floor, together with cleaners and other staff on site. The morning get-together is an important part of the day.

“That’s when we check in, make sure everyone’s doing well, and plan the day’s work,” says Jennifer Nilsson. “Then we grab our cleaning supplies and get started.”

Real work that matters

Their tasks include tidying up in the building’s four staff rooms, collecting dishes, removing empty boxes, and caring for indoor plants. The service team complements the regular cleaning staff — and their efforts are greatly appreciated.

“We keep things neat and nice around the building,” says Gerd Lindgren. “Everyone’s so happy to see us, and that makes the job extra enjoyable.”

“Differences enrich and contribute to a friendly and inclusive work environment,” she says. “It’s good for everyone.”

Valued and inspiring

The municipality’s service teams also help out at various events. At a recent dog show, Jennifer Nilsson picked up a phrase that stuck with her.

“Instead of saying disability, one of the participants said different abilities,” she explains. “No matter our individual abilities and conditions, we can all give 100 percent.”
