This is the new fire and rescue station in Gunnarsbyn

The new fire and rescue station in Gunnarsbyn has now been inaugurated, following the fire in autumn 2024 that damaged the previous station beyond repair. A decision was made to construct a new station on the same site, and it is now ready for use.

The inauguration included a light-hearted moment when the municipal commissioner, lacking traditional ribbon-cutting tools, used a hydraulic cutter to mark the opening. The hydraulic cutter is normally a rescue tool and not intended for cutting ceremonial ribbons.

With the new station, the local fire and rescue service in Gunnarsbyn gains modern and functional facilities. It also provides important conditions for maintaining rescue operations in the Råne River valley and surrounding areas.

The local volunteer fire unit in Gunnarsbyn, whose contributions are essential to the operations on site, has played a significant role in making it possible for the station to be reopened.
