Many applied for funding for cultural events in 2026

This year, more types of organisations were able to apply for the grant than before. This is reflected in this year’s applications, which come from non-profit associations, companies, study associations and economic associations. Altogether, the 21 applications cover 55 events during the year.

THE FUNDING ran out EARLY

The available funding was already used up in March, but the approved events will take place throughout 2026. Most events are held in the central town, but several also take place in rural areas. Music and mixed cultural events are the most common types among this year’s applications.

"This year’s applications show that the support for cultural events reaches many different types of organisers and contributes to a broad cultural offering for Boden residents. At the same time, we see that certain types of events and target groups are more represented than others. This gives us both a clear picture of how the support is used in 2026 and an important basis for developing the support going forward", says Linnéa Byberg, cultural development officer in the Municipality of Boden.
