Explore Boden's unique history

Boden has a history unlike anywhere else in Sweden. At the Museum of Boden's Fortress, you can discover the story of Boden Fortress and Sweden's defence through interactive exhibitions for both children and adults. The same building is also home to Boden Art Gallery, where you can enjoy contemporary art exhibitions.

If you'd like to get even closer to history, visit Rödbergsfortet. During the summer, guided tours take you deep inside the mountain to experience one of Sweden's most secretive fortifications and hear the stories of the people who served there.

Summer Hangout brings the town centre to life

For five weeks, central Boden becomes a vibrant meeting place for the whole family. Summer Hangout offers a packed programme of activities, music, games and creative experiences – all free of charge.

Try sports or dance, get creative with crafts, play games, join a circus workshop or simply relax in one of the seating areas with an ice cream or a coffee. The programme changes daily and includes both recurring activities and special events for different age groups.

Summer Hangout runs Tuesday to Saturday from 23 June to 25 July.
