Paid parking to be introduced in central Boden on 16 September

Today, many parking spaces in central Boden are occupied for long periods, making it more difficult for customers and visitors to find a vacant space close to shops, services and other destinations.

With the new parking system, the municipality aims to increase turnover at the most sought-after parking spaces. When more people can use the same parking space during the course of a day, parking in the town centre becomes more accessible.

There are approximately 1,320 parking spaces within about 800 metres of the town centre. Both free and paid parking spaces will continue to be available.

How parking will work from 16 September

At the 350 parking spaces covered by the new system, the parking disc system will be replaced by paid parking.

• The first hour is free of charge.
• After the first hour, parking costs SEK 15 per hour.
• Parking fees apply on weekdays from 09:00 to 18:00 and on Saturdays from 09:00 to 15:00.
• Parking is free of charge at all other times.
• At some parking spaces in the most central areas, the fee applies from the first hour.

You can pay using the Aimo Park or Parkster apps, or by card at a parking payment machine. Always check the signs where you park to see which rules apply.

Parking permits for those who need to park as part of their work

Special parking permits will be introduced for people who need to park as part of their work. This may include, for example, home care staff and tradespeople.

The employer is responsible for applying for the permit. The permits are available to organisations in both the public and private sectors.

Parking for people with reduced mobility

For people with a valid disabled parking permit, parking is free of charge for the first six hours. After that, the standard parking fee applies.

New parking signs ahead of 16 September

In preparation for the new parking system, the signs at the affected parking areas will be changed. During this work, some parking signs may temporarily be covered or replaced.

While the signs are being changed, you should primarily follow the existing signs at the location. Where no other parking restrictions are indicated, parking is permitted for a maximum of 24 hours.
