Things are happening along Kungsgatan

Anyone walking through central Boden has probably noticed the scaffolding along Kungsgatan. Extensive renovation work is currently underway on the property that houses Enter Galleria, the city library, shops and cultural venues, among other things.

The work has started on the exterior, with the roof, façade and windows. Now that the scaffolding is in place, the façade is being cleaned and repaired. The windows will also be replaced during the autumn.

“We will also restore the bay windows at the library to give them a more original appearance,” says Gabriella Edfast, property developer at PPI, Public Property Invest AB (formerly SBB).

What you can see from the street is therefore part of the property owner PPI’s general renovation work. Once the exterior work is complete, the renovation will continue inside with plumbing, ventilation, electrical work and new surface finishes.

The shops are open as usual

Despite the scaffolding and barriers, it’s business as usual inside the building. Enter Galleria and the shops along Kungsgatan are open and can be accessed as usual.

At the same time, planning continues for Eyvind Kulturhus, in collaboration between Bodens kommun and property owner PPI.

“This work can move forward once the renovation of the fundamental parts of the building has been completed,” says Jonas Johansson, Head of the Property Department at Bodens kommun.
