Beredskapsveckan 2026: You are part of Sweden’s total defence
How prepared are you if everyday life suddenly stops working as usual? Beredskapsveckan takes place from 21–27 September. In Boden, there will be a full week of activities, talks and practical tips – ending on Saturday with Are You Ready?, a family day packed with activities for all ages.
During Beredskapsveckan, you can learn more about how to strengthen your own and your family’s preparedness. Visit open houses, take part in quizzes, listen to talks and learn about everything from emergency water supplies and civil defence shelters to food, growing your own produce and useful equipment.
Beredskapsveckan is a national information campaign coordinated by the Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency (MCF). Its aim is to strengthen people’s resilience in the event of a crisis or war. Organisations across Sweden take part during the week to help strengthen society’s preparedness together.
The programme will be updated regularly.

Your preparedness is part of Sweden’s preparedness
When you can manage on your own and help those closest to you during a crisis, society’s resources can be directed to those who need them most. Your home preparedness therefore matters – both to you and to society. You are part of Sweden’s total defence.
How would you like to get involved?
If a crisis or war occurs, we all need to help each other. Knowing your neighbours makes it easier to work together. By joining a local organisation or a voluntary defence organisation, you can make a valuable contribution – both in everyday life and during a crisis.
