Appeal a decision from the environment and building committee
If you are not satisfied with a decision from the environment and building committee, you have the right to appeal. This may concern, for example, building permits, environmental permits, sewerage or fees. The appeal must be made in writing and submitted within three weeks.

When can you appeal?
If you receive a decision from the environment and building committee and are not satisfied, you can appeal it. This may concern building permits, sewerage, environmental permits or other matters where you as a private individual or company are a party. You can also appeal decisions about administrative fees.
How does it work?
The appeal must be in writing.
- Clearly state which decision you are appealing (for example case number, property designation or case title).
- Explain why you think the decision should be changed and how you want it to be instead.
- Sign with your name. If you use a representative, an original power of attorney must be attached.
Send the appeal
The appeal must be addressed to Länsstyrelsen (the County Administrative Board) of Norrbotten, but sent to:

When the committee receives your appeal, it checks that it has been submitted on time. The case is then forwarded to the County Administrative Board, which decides whether the appeal should be granted or rejected.
You must submit your appeal within three weeks from the day you received the decision.
Fees
- Administrative fees can be appealed.
- However, the invoice must still be paid by the due date, even if you appeal. If your appeal is successful, the money will be refunded.
