Complaint or suspected food poisoning

Do you suspect food poisoning or want to complain about a restaurant or shop? Contact the municipality so we can investigate. The earlier you report, the greater the chance of finding the cause and preventing others from getting sick.

Make a complaint

If you want to complain about food handling, cleaning or other shortcomings in a restaurant, shop or other business, you can contact the municipality’s environment and building unit at 0921-620 00.

If you have bought a faulty product, you should first contact the shop or the producer. If you are not satisfied with their response, you can turn to the municipality.

To handle your case, we need to know:

  • where you bought the product,
  • date of purchase,
  • product name, producer and best-before date (or batch number).

Suspected food poisoning

f you think you have suffered food poisoning, contact the municipality’s food inspectors at 0921-620 00. The earlier you report, the greater the chance of finding the cause.

When making a report, it is helpful if you can answer questions such as:

  • Where and when did you eat?
  • What did you eat and drink?
  • When did the symptoms start, and what were they?
  • Did others in your group get sick, and what did they eat?
  • Do you remember anything unusual, such as food served lukewarm or undercooked?
  • Have you been in contact with healthcare or the place where you ate?
  • Do you have any allergies or intolerances?
  • Have you met anyone who has been ill recently?
