Simplified service of documents
The municipality may use simplified service in certain cases. This means that you, as the recipient, do not need to send proof that you have received the decision or document. By law, you are considered notified even if you have not read the information.

How simplified service works
Simplified service means that we send decisions and other documents to your most recently known address or to a verified email address.
- If we have your email address, it will be used first. In that case, only one email is sent.
- If we only have your postal address, two letters will be sent:
- Letter 1 contains the actual document, for example a decision.
- Letter 2 is sent the next working day and informs you that the document has been sent.
You are considered notified two weeks after the first letter or email has been sent, regardless of whether you have read it or not.
Important to remember
- Always inform the municipality if you change your address or email.
- Check your mail at least every two weeks. If you cannot do so, for example during holidays, let us know in advance so you do not risk missing important deadlines.
- Simplified service can be used throughout the case and also in higher instances if the case is appealed.
