Inspections and controls
The Environment and Building Committee supervises businesses within the municipality. This includes, for example, environmentally hazardous activities, food handling, alcohol serving and tobacco sales.
Supervision involves:
- processing applications and notifications
- investigating complaints
- carrying out inspections and checks at businesses and companies
We also supervise on-site wastewater systems to ensure that any deficiencies are addressed.
Fees
We charge fees for supervision in accordance with a fee schedule adopted by the Municipal Council.
The fee varies depending on the type of business and the type of supervision.
Do you have a complaint?
You can contact the Environment and Building Unit if you experience problems affecting health or the environment, or if you suspect deficiencies in food handling.
Examples include:
- noise
- littering
- dust
- damp, mould or poor ventilation
- deficiencies in food handling
Before submitting a complaint, you should contact the party responsible for the problem:
- Housing environment: property owner or housing association
- Traffic noise: road authority
- Municipal roads: Transport Unit, Municipality of Boden
- State roads: Swedish Transport Administration
- Businesses: the responsible operator
If the problem is not resolved, you can proceed by submitting a complaint.
How we handle complaints
Send an email to: mob@boden.se. Describe the problem as clearly as possible.
Your submission will be registered as an official document. This means that the information is public.
You may remain anonymous, but this may make it more difficult for us to investigate the matter.
We usually inform the party concerned so that the problem can be addressed.
In some cases, we may determine that the issue does not constitute a nuisance under the law. In such cases, no action will be taken. You have the right to appeal the decision.
If we decide that action is required, the affected parties also have the right to appeal.
