Water and sewer regulations

The general regulations describe your rights and responsibilities when you are connected to the public water supply and wastewater system in the municipality of Boden.

Your responsibilities as a customer

Connection and installation

As a property owner, you are responsible for making sure that your property is correctly connected and that the installations and pipes on your land work properly.

Use of the sewer system

The sewer system must not be used to flush chemicals, fat, paint, cotton swabs, wet wipes, or anything else that can cause blockages or damage the treatment plant.

Water meter

You are responsible for protecting the water meter from frost and other damage.

Information to the municipality

When you move, make major changes, or if the property is to be disconnected, you must inform the municipality.

Municipality’s responsibility and fees

Municipality’s commitments

The municipality supplies drinking water, treats wastewater, and maintains the pipe network and treatment plant. Temporary interruptions may occur during operational disturbances.

Fees

The costs for water and wastewater are covered by fees, not by taxes. The fee consists of a fixed part and a variable part based on your consumption.

Billing

The municipality is responsible for reading the water meter and sending the bill.
