Cooperation with employers
There is a significant shortage of people with upper secondary vocational qualifications in many sectors. Adult Education can help meet this demand through skills development, validation of prior learning and cooperation with employers.
We offer skills development for both new and existing employees, validation of prior learning, and opportunities for employers to take on students for work placements or apprenticeships.
Skills development
Does your company need to develop the skills of new or existing employees? Adult Education can help you find education and training providers and put you in contact with providers offering commissioned training.
We can also offer places on individual courses or complete vocational programmes. Most programmes and courses are free of charge and can be started at various times throughout the year.
We can also develop new training programmes based on the needs of employers. If you have ideas or would like to discuss skills needs in your sector, you are welcome to contact us.
Validation of prior learning
Validation of prior learning is a structured process in which a person's existing knowledge and skills are assessed, documented and formally recognised, regardless of how they were acquired. In other words, it is a way of making the skills a person already has visible and recognised.
Validation can shorten the time needed to complete a course or programme and provide an efficient route for employees without formal qualifications to gain the qualifications they need.
Work placements
Taking on a student for a work placement or workplace-based learning (APL) can be a first step towards finding new employees. It also gives someone an opportunity to enter the labour market while getting to know your organisation.
The purpose of a work placement can vary. For example, it may provide an opportunity to practise Swedish or develop vocational skills.

Apprenticeships
An apprenticeship provides students with basic vocational training and the opportunity to develop their skills in a workplace under the guidance of a supervisor. At least 70 per cent of the programme takes place in the workplace.
You can download the list of national vocational courses to see which courses we offer and which may be suitable for apprenticeship placements within your organisation.
