For students

During your studies, there are several practical things to keep track of, from your study pace and course literature to student finance, grades and certificates.

Updated:

Please note that all forms, digital applications (e-services) and some linked websites are currently in Swedish. Contact Citizen Service if you need help in English.

Study pace

You can choose to take just one course or several courses. You can also choose whether to study part-time or full-time.

Full-time studies, 100% – 20 credits per week
Part-time studies, 75% – 15 credits per week
Part-time studies, 50% – 10 credits per week
Part-time studies, 25% – 5 credits per week

Course literature

The reading list shows which course literature is used in Adult Education programmes and courses. Check which literature is required for your course or programme before buying or borrowing any books.

Student finance from CSN

If you receive student finance from CSN, or are planning to apply for it, add up the credits for your courses. Make sure they correspond to the study pace you have chosen.

Adult Education regularly reports the extent and duration of your studies and your study results to CSN. If you decide not to take a course, it is important that your remaining studies still correspond to the study pace you have reported to CSN. Otherwise, you may have to repay some or all of your student finance.

Please note: If you are absent from a course for more than three weeks without providing a valid reason, you will be withdrawn from the course or programme.

GY25

On 1 July 2025, GY25, a reform of upper secondary school and adult education, was introduced. As part of the reform, upper secondary courses were replaced by subjects divided into different levels.

Here you can find a list showing how the previous courses correspond to the new subject levels.

Rules and information for your studies

All students have the right to learn and develop in a safe environment and to be treated with respect. Adult Education and other educational activities covered by the Swedish Education Act must be free from discrimination and degrading treatment. We therefore do not accept any form of discrimination or degrading treatment, including bullying, sexual harassment, violence, threats or racism.

We take each individual's experience seriously. Anyone who reports that they have been subjected to discrimination or degrading treatment must always be taken seriously. School staff are required to immediately report any suspected discrimination or degrading treatment to the principal.

If you need help or support, you can always contact your teacher, the principal or another member of staff.

Do you have comments or complaints about our services? If you are not satisfied, we would like to hear from you. Your feedback is important and helps us develop and improve our services.
