About the preschool
Fagernäs Preschool is about two kilometres from central Boden with good bus connections and a bus stop by Fagernäs School. There are five departments organised to be as age-homogeneous as possible. Indoor environments are adapted to each age group, and every August the groups and educators move up to the next department; the oldest children continue to preschool class.
The outdoor area is a large, shared inner courtyard that invites play, learning and activity year-round. Entrances to the departments are via the inner yard, and parking for guardians and visitors is accessed from Gränsvägen.
Meals and food
There are two production kitchens where cooks prepare nutritious, varied meals in line with the municipality’s food guidelines.
Pedagogy and approach
Work follows the national preschool curriculum, municipal guidelines and a local plan. Everyday life should be fun, safe and rich in content as a foundation for lifelong learning. Priority areas are language and communication, mathematics and social competence, supported by ongoing values education.
Safety and cooperation
Settling-in is flexible and guardian-active with each child’s needs in focus. The aim is for all children and guardians to feel welcome, comfortable and safe through daily dialogue and clear routines.
