About the preschool
Hedforsens Preschool is in the Trångfors neighbourhood, about 4.5 kilometres from central Boden. There are six departments for ages 1–5 on two floors: Mossan and Ljungen downstairs for the youngest children, and Bäcken, Strömmen, Ravinen and Vågen upstairs for older children.
The outdoor area is divided for younger and older children with age-appropriate play equipment. Indoors you will find two shared squares, a studio, a woodwork room, a water-play room and a restaurant. Learning environments support play and development both indoors and outdoors.
Meals and food
Meals are served in the preschool’s restaurant and follow the municipality’s nutrition guidelines.
Pedagogy and approach
Work is anchored in the Education Act, the national preschool curriculum, municipal guidelines and a local plan. There are varied materials and environments that stimulate children’s play, learning and development at all ages. The aim is to offer security, care and learning, giving children a strong start for school and for life.
Safety and cooperation
Although the preschool is large, the organisation creates “small within large” so every child is seen. Children mostly meet regular staff. Quality is strengthened through around eighteen full-time staff positions, including qualified preschool teachers and childcarers, with a quality developer, a coordinator and the principal leading the work together with the team.
