About the preschool
Lunda Preschool sits in central Sävast, surrounded by nature trails and play areas. There are eight departments on two floors: younger children downstairs and older children upstairs. Three shared squares support community activities, two studios support creative work, and a restaurant serves shared meals.
It is the municipality’s largest preschool, yet the organisation creates “small within large.” Children belong to clear, smaller settings: the youngest, the middle group and those nearing school. Nearby Mårängsskolan provides continuity from preschool class to year six.
Meals and food
Meals are served in the preschool restaurant. Eating together builds routine and community.
Pedagogy and approach
Work is led by coordinators, an assistant principal and a principal together with the staff team. The staff brings varied experience and works from the national curriculum to meet each child’s needs. Language development is a special focus because it is central to learning in preschool and school. Collegial learning and shared reflection strengthen quality.
Safety and cooperation
The aim is to offer security, care and learning. Children mostly meet regular, familiar staff and are seen in small groups. We help them grow language and independence and to solve challenges together. Older children are prepared for what is expected at school so the transition is calm and confident.
