About the preschool
Outdoor time is part of every day. Children are outdoors at least twice daily and, when possible, we move activities outside: play, fruit, lunch, and afternoon snack. Children who nap sleep in prams outdoors all year under a covered area. Nearby woods, walking paths, and playgrounds invite discovery and movement. The daily rhythm balances activity and rest based on each child’s needs and attendance time.
Meals and food
Meals are prepared and eaten outdoors some weeks during most of the year, using a large outdoor griddle to make eating together enjoyable.
Pedagogy and approach
Our work is Reggio Emilia–inspired. We view children as competent; they build knowledge in interactions with others, the environment, and educators. We pose questions that invite their own conclusions. Teaching follows the national preschool curriculum and is meant to be fun, safe, and educational. Reflection drives improvement at individual, group, and organisational levels. We use pedagogical documentation to follow learning and refine our teaching. Play is given time, space, and calm; it supports imagination, language, cooperation, motor skills, problem-solving, and symbolic thinking.
Safety and cooperation
Our guiding words are safety, outdoor life and health, desire to learn, and every child is unique. The child groups are multilingual and multicultural; we work with guardians to build participation. Annual projects explore cultures, similarities and differences, flags, and foods from around the world, creating understanding and belonging. We also work with reuse and recycling to support sustainability and creative thinking. Clear routines and familiar adults foster security.
