About the preschool
Tankeborgen Preschool is run by a member-owned, non-profit cooperative; any surplus is reinvested in the preschool. The service is free of charge. The preschool has about seventeen children, qualified staff, a high staff-to-child ratio (around one adult per six children), and access to the specialist competence children may need.
Bright premises include a dining hall and access to a sports hall. The outdoor setting offers woods, garden beds, large play areas, and in winter an ice rink—rich environments for play and learning.
Meals and food
Meals are cooked on site by the preschool’s cook. Swedish and locally sourced ingredients are prioritised; children help make mealtimes social and enjoyable.
Pedagogy and approach
Teaching follows Sweden’s national preschool curriculum. Systematic quality work and pedagogical documentation are used to follow each child’s learning and plan next steps. Children’s needs, ideas, and questions shape routines, environments, and activities. Learning is joyful and challenging at each child’s level, with frequent outdoor learning, movement, and exploration of aesthetic expressions with varied materials.
Safety and cooperation
Differences are seen as an asset. Daily life is guided by empathy, care, and democratic values. Security comes from clear routines and familiar adults who build trusting relationships with every child.
