About the preschool
Rörviken Preschool is centrally located in the lower part of Boden. The preschool has four departments in newly renovated facilities: Villekulla, Bullerbyn and Lönneberga for children aged 1–4, and Mattisborgen for five-year-olds.
The outdoor area is large and open, with trees, berry bushes, wide lawns, a cycle path, climbing frames and a sledding hill. Beautiful natural areas are nearby, and the town centre’s cultural venues are within easy reach. Good bus links make longer outings possible.
Meals and food
Meals are prepared on site by the preschool cook, largely with locally produced and organic ingredients. A variety of salads, vegetables and fruit is served every day.
Pedagogy and approach
Teaching follows the Education Act, the national preschool curriculum, municipal guidelines and a local plan. Everyday life should be fun, safe and rich in content, laying the foundation for lifelong learning. Focus areas include language, drama, information and communication technology, mathematics, natural science and technology. Daily outdoor time is part of learning. Settling-in is secure and flexible, and community is strong so that children feel safe with all staff.
Safety and cooperation
The preschool works for a welcoming atmosphere and clear communication with guardians. Children are encouraged to feel at home with all adults, to participate, and to develop confidence through play, routines and shared activities.
