About the school

Mimers Brunn is part of Mimers Vittjärv, which also includes the preschools Vittjärvsgården (units Hugin, Munin and Oden) and Klätterträdet (two units in northern Svartbyn). The after-school programme is located in the school building.
The school works thematically with inspiration from the Danish Bifrost model, where children’s curiosity, creativity and ideas are the starting point.

Food and meals

Meals are cooked from scratch by our own chefs in the school kitchen.

Wellbeing and partnership

The school builds on democratic values where every pupil’s voice and needs are taken seriously. Movement, outdoor learning and cultural experiences are central to daily life.

Pedagogy and approach

Every term teachers choose a theme that forms the basis for cross-curricular teaching. Work starts with a joint “happening” or cultural experience to spark curiosity. Pupils’ ideas and questions are collected and form the foundation of further studies.

Teaching combines core lessons with workshops:

  • Reading and writing workshop
  • Art and creative studio
  • Laboratory workshop for science and hands-on learning
Pupils work both individually and in groups, and each project concludes with a presentation and evaluation. The term ends with a major exhibition where pupils share their work with families and the community.

Pre-primary class

The pre-primary year introduces pupils to the Bifrost approach in small groups. Activities focus on creativity, language, mathematics, movement and outdoor life. Cooperation with the school and after-school programme ensures a smooth start to Primary.

After-school programme

The after-school programme is located in the school building and continues the same pedagogical ideas through structured and free activities. Outdoor play, social interaction and creativity are prioritised. Opening hours follow school needs, with care both before and after the school day.
