About the school
Stureskolan is a municipal lower secondary school located in central Boden. About 360 pupils attend Years 7–9 and nearly 60 staff work here.
Pupils and teachers belong to one of six teams (red, green, white, purple, yellow, blue). These are cross-subject and age-integrated. The school also has a language class and an adapted programme.
The school offers:
- A multi-arena
- Football pitches
- Gym facilities
- A school library
- A student café run by Year 9
Teachers are engaged and skilled, always keeping pupils’ best interests in focus.
wellbeing and cooperation
We invest in safety and a calm study environment. The student health team and safety team are key parts of this work. The school also has a clear plan against degrading treatment, discrimination and harassment.
Pedagogy and approach
The school collaborates with other schools in the municipality to develop teaching through the BUUS programme – Boden Develops Teaching Systematically.
We work cross-subject to give pupils a coherent education. All pupils have access to their own computer and many subjects use digital learning materials.
Pupils appreciate the teachers most: meaningful, varied teaching, strong relations, and support both during and after school hours (three times a week study support is available).
